This was a commission for the couples' 50th wedding anniversary. Working from a wide range of images I selected the best photographs of the main subjects, children and grandchildren and meticulously rendered their portraits in biro pen. The happy couple on their wedding day were painted in watercolour, representing a memory in time that never fades.

Sensitivity is gifted in abundance when capturing portraits of family and friends. The delicate handling of intimate relationships are given the same treatment as the ink from my ballpoint pen which I expertly wield to execute subtle contrasts and highly refined observational detail. A splash of watercolour brings these pieces to life and compliment any room in a home. I work in a range of sizes, enjoy exciting compositions and employ the use of negative space to frame the secret dynamics between the characters within the work.
